Usage

To talk with the dead one has to have first and foremost access to an artefact of the reaper, a special set of weapons to safely extract souls and store them in compatible capsules.
Having access to such a capsule, they can get combined with the Soulcommunicator™ via a simple click-and-lock method.
The communicator looks like a headset for one ear only, having a sender and receiver for confidential conversations with the souls of the dead. The communicator can however get combined with a special loudspeaker, that will get used for interrogation purposes.


After the case is solved will the victim get offered a compensation:
Either a true death getting turned into energy or an option to continue living as a low A.I. steering one of the robotic assistants of the Eternals.

Access & Availability

Soulcommunicators are usually reserved for detectives, the police and justiciars rendering the ability to talk to the dead one, that should not get abused.


When the technology got first invented in 3960 had the broad mass for one year access to the communicator, which still hosted at that time the now separately manufactured Artifacts of the Reaper, being able to extract souls and talk to the decomposed.


That freedom got however quickly revoked by the Eternal Counsel due to striking morality issues. It was one thing to reawaken the dead to turn them into an A.I.. An A.I. benefitted from the call to action, getting gifted a second life, the called however have no gain out of it as the communicator is timed before ejecting the jellified soul once again. Seeing that as a violation of the mortal rights, availability got in 3961 drastically reduced to deathrattle calls only.
