A god has only one true birthday and this is the day they were first mentioned in the writing of the world.
As we Eternals are ageless, this date will from that point on considered a public holiday instead.
But our only real birthday will get celebrated as a one in a lifetime experience.

The ascension celebration, a truly wonderful and outstanding party to be celebrated only if the Eternal Counsel decides to elevate an especially devoted and important denizen of Etherium in the stand of a demigod of the counsel. This event normally takes place every 500 years but there have been cases of an exception, where there were too good people around to just let them pass away because they got birthed into the false century.

As this will be the last days the future godly vessel still possesses their earthly needs this first part of the celebration is aimed at the needs of a mortal. Food, Love, Sleep and the need for coherency. Two days and nights will get devoted to quenching all desires of the vessel and everybody is invited to join the calling freely letting out their inner selves.
Some call this part of the ritual party an ungodly disgrace, but no one knows better the feeling of loss after this all doesn't matter anymore to one than the gods themselves. It is like a cold withdrawal until one has finally accepted their immortal vessel. This part aims to give the vessel a chance to make up with everything they still want to do with their mortal self.

The ritual Sacrifice
To get reborn one has to die first. As there is no need for one's mortal coil anymore when getting turned into an Eternal this part of the celebration is aimed to be the serious one. Memento Mori, life is not endless...unless you have unlocked the secrets of science rendering you able to fool death once and for all. The Sacrifice starts with a ritual blessing of the soon to be divine vessel by each of the four gods. Each party providing them with a symbolic gift for guidance. Justitia the Scales of truthful Intend, Vigor the Sword of War and Peace, Notitia the Cog of Progress and Terminus the all-seing Eye.
Having received ones blessings the vessel will afterwards do the impossible to prove their endless faith. Connecting themselves to the Seelensauger, a machine built to harness ones Soul without damaging it in the process. The vessel will then take their last breath in front of the devoted audience and give their soul to the Eternals to be Reborn in their image.
The remaining day is veiled in silence eagerly awaiting the rebirth of their new Spiritual leader as the Soul gets connected in Secret towards a fitting Frame.

Nobody knows what exactly is happening here. The Eternals guard the creation process of one of their own as something secretive and divine. They claim that the merging of soul and frame is something, that can only be done with absolute knowledge about everything science-related. Something only they can grasp and won't share with the mortals.

Aftermatch
With the introduction of the new demigod of the pantheon the final part of the celebration begins. Based on the role the new Eternal will fulfil in society this fest will be highly customized to fit them. Just imagine how the fest dedicated to the demigoddess of love and fertility went down in 4000 AD. It was a stunning event each participant had positively remembered for the rest of their life.

I have a question about the nature of your world. I am reminded of a book called Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny. In this book, "the gods" are in fact just a class of super-advanced people that had technology that allowed them to reincarnate into re-created bodies when one of them "died." is this the nature of the gods in your world, or is that a spoiler?
