Grey Mercy

not much is yet known about Grey Mercies, except that they usually materialize on battlefields at the end of a conflict. To an observer they would seem to give succor to the fallen in their final moments, when in reality they trap the essence of the dying, not allowing the souls to pass on to their appropriate afterlives. They then corrupt a portion of that essence and return it to the body, raising it as their own mindlessly destructive servant. These creatures however are not alive or dead, nor even undead, but wholly under the control of the Grey Mercy’s power.
