A Shadow Threatens All

A shadowy figure lurks through the countryside and invades the Abestine Tower, claiming the fiftieth floor for itself...  

Even though the races have now formed strong opinions about one another, most still respect a loose treaty of non hostility so all may still benefit from the Abestine Tower. In the beginning of the sixth century a common enemy to all of the races appear, an enigmatic force that appears to threaten the existence of all.   Often described as having shadowy arachnid features, this being later referred to as "Amatoth" took up residence in the fiftieth floor of the Abestine tower and began some vile and unknown work. All attempts to evict it was met with death. This event seemed to foretell a great doom in which the inhabitants of the world feared the possible result of its work. After several years, the Hierophant of the Circle of Ten was given dream visions from Arawyn itself, directing the druidic coven to search out and create a champion destined to destroy this threat.
