The Old Docks

Once the operation center where the Aurora's guild managed the maritime activity in Laku, now they are just a place for the kids to play against their parents' advice.
The four piers are built with the same materials and proportions, but the newest of them go further offshore than the original one. There are distant enough from each other that they could be considered completely different constructions, if they hadn't been owned by the same organizations for a couple of millennium and abandoned together during the drought.
They were treated as a whole even when they were restored by All the Traders guild, one by one, once the sea was navigable again.
As new piers were build in different points of Laku, they became obsolete. After enduring the sporadic freezing events in the late years of discovery age, they presented several damages and people decided to abandon them instead of fixing them.

Purpose / Function

In the thriving days of the Queendom of the South Desert, when the sea was the most dangerous thing for them and only a few dared to search for food and treasures in its waters, the pier was the heart of trading of sea products.
It was built by the sister queens of that age, to help the sailors that couldn't afford the construction or maintenance of even a small pier for their boats, but Aurora asked them to take control over it, promising maintenance and order. They accepted and Aurora and the guild kept her promise, but they also used the pier as part of their system to control the movement of sailors in the sea and out of it.

Alterations

The main pier, destined for load, unload and maintenance, wasn't enough for the requirements of subsequent years. There were more boats and people started to trade in the area. The sea was getting far and far from the shore too.
For those reasons, new piers where built in the years 212, 316, 595 and 809 of the 9th Ka BD. The first and second when through major alterations not long after the built of the third one, because they counted with better materials.
Despite being abandoned during The Drought, they were kept in relatively good conditions, and they weren't altered on the years in which they were used again.
