Puppeteering

Considered on par with hypnosis when it comes to magical atrocities that can be committed upon a person, this form of magic is often confused or misinterpreted with hypnosis. Yet, in many ways, it's worse. Where hypnosis forces a person to do things against their will only in the strongest of cases, puppeteering isn't so limited, nor does it require manipulating people's minds. Of course, the greatest difference between hypnosis and puppeteering is that the latter can be done with a corpse.   That isn't to say puppeteering completely lacks the use of mental magic because there is a small measure involved, but the far greater use is of telekinesis in manipulating the body, or even their clothing. This makes adept puppetmasters a threat even to Nulled Ones, even if choosing such a target would leave the spellster with a far more belligerent puppet to control than most.
Something about their movements stayed his hand. There was a wrongness to them. A fumbling he had come across in only the drunkest of those who dared to ambush him. Were his attackers limping? Were they perhaps wounded victims of this rogue spellster? He had read the reports of what this man had done. The piles of broken bodies he was responsible for.

Side/Secondary Effects

The mental magic involved in puppeteering either renders the victim unconscious or puts them in a fugue state to the point that grave wounds can be inflicted on them without any reaction. Many who have been targeted in such a manner are completely unaware of their actions upon waking. This enables a spellster to have the victim commit acts they otherwise would refuse if done under hypnosis.   Sadly, this also leads to many victims being crippled or even killed as their bodies are forced to bend or twist in ways that even the most flexible being is incapable of.   An adept puppet master can command several people at once and can even have them perform complex actions, such as fighting as a group. However, this division of attention means that the victims move slowly, their speed increasing only as each puppet is forsaken.
Effect Duration
The effect lasts as long as the spellster cedes control, or until they are rendered unconscious.
Range
Given that puppeteering requires the spellster to move the person, they must remain within sight of their victim.

Cool spell type I really love how you make the difference between hypnosis and puppeteer. And how it's way worser of a magic type.

Loved seeing the quoted mention of 'wrongness' in the puppeteered, and the fugue state the victim is placed in. This spell is particularly vicious. Well done.   Would you be willing to have me read this on one of my weekly writing streams this month?

Ah, the classic puppeteering. I like the detail you went into with how the spell specifically works. I also appreciate that a caster is less effective when controlling more puppets. Makes me wonder if anyone magical has figured out the efficiency to a level where you could have the classic "city under attack by puppet zombie citizens" scene.
