Avkuh
Though a rare sight for several generations, a Haerkuh Je'ak shield wall is not to go unnoticed on the battlefield. The avkuh are halfway between a small shield and a buckler, large enough to provide effective cover and small enough to maneuver to the back to swap between various forms of the Majokuh. Made of mithril or orichalcum, the shields are lightweight for their size, and finely balanced.
To be sure, uplifting beside you and daunting in front.
~Grandmaster Jeren, of the Gold Tower.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The back of the shield has several dull hooks and straps to facilitate easy transfers of position from the arm to the back as required.
Significance
One of the Haerkuh Ja'ek Heirlooms, no warrior of the sect would willingly surrender his shield.
