Constellation: The Trident

"The Trident is a constellation that represents an ancient and powerful sea titan known as Eryna, the Mistress of the Tides. In the distant past, when the world was still young and the seas were vast and untamed, Eryna roamed the oceans, commanding the waves and the creatures of the deep. She was a majestic and awe-inspiring being, with hair as dark as the midnight sea and eyes that shimmered like starlit waters.   Eryna was both revered and feared by sailors and coastal communities. She could be both benevolent and wrathful, bestowing calm seas and bountiful catches upon those who offered her respect and tribute, while unleashing storms and tempests upon those who angered her.   One fateful day, a mighty sea serpent known as Korthor emerged from the depths, challenging Eryna's dominion over the seas. The two powerful beings clashed in a fierce battle, their elemental forces colliding with tremendous force.   The conflict between Eryna and Korthor raged for days, and the seas churned with their divine power. In the end, it was Eryna who emerged victorious, driving Korthor back into the depths and restoring the balance of the ocean.   To commemorate her triumph over the sea serpent and to remind the people of her power, the gods placed Eryna's symbol, a golden trident, in the night sky as the constellation known as The Trident. It is said that when The Trident is at its highest point in the heavens, the tides are under Eryna's control, and her presence is felt in the crashing waves and the gentle ebb and flow of the sea.   The legend of The Trident is passed down through generations, and coastal communities continue to honor Eryna with offerings and prayers. Sailors invoke her name for safe voyages and calm seas, and fishermen seek her favor for bountiful catches.   The constellation of The Trident serves as a reminder of the power and unpredictability of the sea and the respect that must be shown to its divine ruler, Eryna. It is a symbol of the deep connection between the Maecodian people and the forces of nature, reminding them to always approach the sea with humility and reverence."   ~Grandmaster Jeren, of The Golden Tower
