Economy Score

The Economy Score is a measure of the total factors that are currently effecting the economy in a given region. It is expected as a flat + or - number after all of the contributing factors have been determined.   Competent leadership, local morale, recent festivals, etc. can all have a positive effect on the economy, as determined by the DM.   Bandit predation, local monsters, plagues, and poor leadership can harm the local economy.   The good news is that these things are controllable by the PCs; bandit camps can be obliterated, monsters slain, poor leadership replaced by the better. If they have enough wealth, festivals can be thrown and morale improved.   A good economy bonus can enlarge the pool of money that merchants have on hand to buy loot as well as stocking items. It can also effect local businesses, such as the PCs might own.   As one of the Pillars of Society, the Economy can have effects on the other two.   Sample effects:
Sample Effect Sample Bonus
A bandit gang infesting the area -1
An outbreak of Ghoul Fever -2
A festival is happening! +3
A festival recently wrapped up +1
Adventurers slayed a dragon and went on an absolute spending spree in town! +10
