Inquisitor's Paraphernalia
There are two potential reactions to the stereotypical travel gear of the College of Questions: Terror or solidarity.
Terror doesn't necessarily come only from the magic users so despised by the College of Questions. Anyone who has seen more than one witch hunt has at least an inkling that inquisitors are far from fallible. Some may even have the belief that the inquisitors themselves are corrupt, seeking rewards or fame.
Solidarity comes from those who either grew up more afraid of Black Annis than vanilla human strangers or who have actually suffered at the hands of magic users. The College of Questions is well-trained in identifying this reaction, as they will be the real weapon against any witch.
Components and tools
The Witchfinder's Hat is an iconic part of the silhouette. It's a moderate-brimmed hat with a tall, flat cap.
The stereotypical leather armor is a layered rawhide surcoat, stained dark brown or black.
The College of Questions graduates are gifted a unique type of rapier modeled after an old disused elf design. The edge is only double for one foot of the tip, with the other three and a half only bladed on the fore. Gold filigree decorates the basket hilt and the fuller. The hilt-handle is curved and slightly longer than usual, allowing a variety of grips. This design is still favored by master duelists.
