Holidays

The Festival of the Unveiling - celebrating the uncovery of hidden secrets. On this day, by tradition, celebrants must answer every question truthfully and, preferably, in academic detail.
The Convocation of the Seekers - gathering of Charismatics to share knowledge. They gather in a location known only to those in the sect. A seeker is expected to make the pilgrimage at least three times in their mortal lives, and once a decade if they are undead.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Nevac was once among the first priests of Eclipse Fickle Bloom after her apotheosis. Unlike his fellow priests, he became emotionally detached and became obsessed with discovering all of the mysteries of life and death. It became very quickly apparent to him that it was not possible to accomplish this task in a lifetime. He gathered the knowledge of undeath and formulated a unique ritual that combined mummification and lichdom. His attendants placed his mind and soul in his heart, which he put in a canoptic jar as part of the mummification. He devoted his unlife thereafter to gathering recording knowledge. Eventually, he developed his own subsect of the Devotees known as the Eternal Quill, or the Scribes of Midnight. Their devotion eventually raised him up to the status of Demigod. He wanders the world, usually in disguise as a human or elven sage, and collects knowledge indiscriminately. He also engages in philosophical discussions on the nature of life and death, which is how his cult grows as his apostles are usually too insular to proselytize.

As a child, Nevac was tutored by the greatest minds of his age, many of them inhuman. As an adult, he sought out knowledge for himself. Even before his apotheosis, he possessed an extensive knowledge of ancient lore, mysticism, and the occult.

Uncovered numerous hidden texts and secrets, established the Eternal Quill sect, and built the original Black Library, inspiring all of those constructed on top of its ruins.
