Population Dice
Population Dice is an abstract for a settlement's total population.
In general, a town can support one military unit (usually militia) of its dice size, two of one dice below its size, or four of any size below that.
Settlement | Population Dice | Description |
---|---|---|
Homestead | 1d4 | An extremely small settlement, no more than 1 clan, usually temporary or with permanent structures that are temporarily occupied. Population: 12 - 200 |
Hamlet | 1d6 | A small settlement, 1-4 family clans, usually minor, usually exploitative of a single resource. Population: 80 - 500 |
Village | 1d8 | A small settlement, 4-8 family clans, at least one major with some minor. Population: 400- 2,000 |
Town | 1d10 | A mid sized settlement, 5-15 family clans, at least three major with some minor. Population: 1,500 -8,000 |
Borough | 1d12 | Also known as a Large Town. A mid to large sized settlement, 10-20 family clans, at least six major with some minor. Population: 7,000 - 15,000 |
City | 1d20 | A large settlement, 15-30 family clans, at least ten major with some minor. Population: 10,000+ |
