History

The city has a long and storied history, with its origins dating back to the ancient gnomish empire. It has been a center of learning and innovation for centuries.   In the likely apocryphal story of Teknokraticonica, each of the seven cities was said to be ruled by a wise and just ruler, known as a Crown. These Crowns were revered as both leaders and scholars, guiding their cities to prosperity and enlightenment. Each Crown was responsible for adding to the Teknokraticon, a great "book" in which all gnomish knowledge was compiled, ensuring that their city's wisdom and achievements were recorded for posterity.   However, a great calamity struck the land in the form of a colossal titan that threatened to destroy all the cities. Realizing the need for unity and strength, the seven Crowns came together and forged the Seven Crowns Council. They elected a High Crown, who would lead them in battle against the titan. With the combined knowledge and ingenuity of the seven cities, they devised a plan to defeat the titan using a powerful weapon known as the Gnomish Star, a technological marvel that harnessed the leyline energies.   The High Crown, wielding the Gnomish Star, faced the titan in a titanic battle that shook the very foundations of the land. Through sheer determination and unity, the High Crown managed to slay the titan, saving the seven cities from destruction. In honor of their victory and unity, the seven cities decided to merge into one grand city, Teknokraticonica, and elected the High Crown as the first Emperor of the united city.   As Teknokraticonica grew and prospered, the Teknokraticon became the centerpiece of gnomish culture and learning. It was constantly expanded and updated, serving as a repository of knowledge, innovation, and history. The city established a vast network of universities and academies, becoming a center of learning and innovation in the world. The Teknokraticon was revered as a sacred text, and the pursuit of knowledge and progress became central tenets of gnomish society.   Over the centuries, Teknokraticonica faced its own challenges, including internal strife, invasions, and conflicts with neighboring powers. However, through it all, the city endured, adapting and evolving to maintain its status as a great imperial city. Today, Teknokraticonica stands as a testament to the ingenuity, resilience, and unity of the gnomish people, a shining example of what can be achieved through cooperation and innovation, all recorded within the pages of the Teknokraticon.
