The Colossus stands with a team of mages and alchemists.
The Caretaker oversees this small band, with three transmuters of varying skills and eight alchemists. They have a revolving bevy of apprentices that help them in their daily tasks.
Weaponry
The Obelisk Blade - Clutched in its massive hand, the Obelisk Blade is 100 ft long, 12 ft. thick and made of magically hardened granite. When active, the "blade" is wrapped in a layer of force.

A small band of mages is tasked with the cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance of the physical and magical properties of the statue.

History
In Newspring of 973, the diviners of the Golden Tower foresaw something. While this much is known, what exactly they saw is not. In response to this vision, they began a massive arcanoengineering building project. Apparently following designs found in a Grimhii vault, they erected an enormous statue over the course of 11 months.
Since then, the statue has remained immobile, and The College of Questions insists that it was simply a bluff to inflame the cowardice of non-mages against any sort of retaliation for the vast conspiracies the College accuses the Golden Tower of.
