History
The Wand of the Dark Covenant has a dark and sordid history, spanning from its creation by Orcus, the demon prince of undeath, to its eventual possession by Uvrol Varenthok. Forged from the petrified bones of an earth primordial, this powerful necromantic artifact has been the key to commanding formidable undead armies:
Morlak the Soulrender - Orcus initially created the wand, infusing it with terrifying necromantic energies, and granted it to Morlak, a ruthless necromancer. Morlak raised an army of undead horrors and terrorized the land for years before a courageous paladin named Sir Erion vanquished him.
Necra the Defiler - Following Morlak's demise, the wand vanished and reappeared in the hands of Necra, a wicked sorceress. She summoned hordes of zombies and skeletons, conquering vast territories with her dark forces. Her reign of terror ended when a group of skilled adventurers led by the rogue Arilyn infiltrated her fortress and slew her.
Thulgrim the Eternal - Thulgrim, a lich, discovered the wand's power when he unearthed it from the ashes of Necra's tower. He continued her work, delving into darker necromantic arts and raising legions of undead that were nearly unstoppable. A legendary elven archmage named Selene, along with her allies, confronted Thulgrim and shattered his phylactery, ending his existence.
Zaroth the Cursed - The wand found its way into the hands of Zaroth, a necromancer of immense power. He used it to amass an army of death knights, liches, and monstrous undead creatures, plunging the world into a new era of darkness known as the Gutter Wars. It was the renowned warrior Seraphina who, with the blessing of a celestial being, managed to defeat Zaroth and cleanse the land.
Larnak the Damned - Larnak, a wicked warlock in Shelor, became the wand's owner and created a nightmarish legion of undead horrors. The Aurimaekrix himself led the armies to defeat him. In a climactic battle, they overcame Larnak and his forces, only to find that the Wand of the Dark Covenant had vanished, returning to its dark master, Orcus, along with Larnak's tormented soul.
