Setting Overview

Kognombia is a city like no other, where innovation, commerce, and freedom flourish. From the spires of banks run by dragons to the depths of the trendy LoDoToKoGno (Lower Downtown Kognombia) district, It's a city that is as vertical as it is horizontal. Every district is wildly different, and ever-changing.

The Call To Adventure

It turns out unchecked magic and wild develoment is not without its problems. Kognombia is experiencing an adventurer's rennaisance, and beckons(and/or kidnaps) heroes from far and wide to come and wide to help handle all the crazy situations its denizens have gotten themselves into.

Backstory Considerations

The infux of adventurers into the city mean you're not expected to be a long-term citizen, or know anything about the city (or even adventuring in general). Adventuring, like most things in Kognombia require a license/guild membership to perform legally, so the story takes place at the official Kognombia Adventurer's Guild, one of the somewhat premier adventuring guilds of the city! The further you climb the more renown you will gain, the higher your adventuring rank... that is IF you can make it past the final exams alive... One thing to keep in mind is until you make it to the top you're basically a glorified garbage man, so one thing your character should ask themselves is "Why am I doing this to myself?"

While the core rules of Dungeons & Dragons are foundation for the rules, you'll also find elements from various official supplements and homebrew content. Kognombia is a "quest of the week" style world, and is part of the "Well Met" universe - a multi-table D&D initiative that allows your character to play(and progress) at multiple tables throughout the year! You basically get to opt-in to several ongoing campaigns at any given time!
