On Fate

Now look, all I'm saying is it dont matter what this prophesy says or what that seer foretold. Its either all bullshit, or none of it is. You have a choice, or ya dont.
If we accept the premise that we have free will then there can be no predetermined destiny. The gods and devils of the outer planes are of course bound to certain actions by the collective consciousness of their followers because to stray outside of that ideal would be to stray from their source of power. That is why you dont hear about a god of death saving lives. A god of storms does not stop the rain, they move it elsewhere.
They may have created this would through their collective power, but the second we were given free will they gave up the reins and became at most active observers. So yea, they may have a good guess about what is gonna happen, but that is just through years and years of watching. Aint no differn't than how I know that on a night like tonight Old Tom, thats the cat up on the shelf above the end o' the bar, he's eventually gonna leap at one of the flies buzzin around folks plates at the bar. Gonna scatter plates and food and booze everywhere when he does. And old Jerome is gonna cuss and swear when it happens, and then say something about "if you werent such a good mouser...." and shake his fist.
I ain't makin' the fly land, and I ain't makin' Old Tom jump, but its gonna happen. Thats sort of how the gods work with free will. So when you says "its my destiny" trust me, if you dont do it some god will find some other person to kill whatever evil you are off to slay.
