Suplum

Suplums are well known for their precision and control of Gifts, and are often the ones teaching those infected with Gifts.
Though it has been disproved, Suplums are often shunned due to the belief that infectious Gifts were caused by them. They are hunted by Grayscales, who gathered due to the original suspicion. In most provinces, this suspicion has been snuffed out, along with Grayscales, but in a few, Suplums still face aggression and unfriendliness.
In these cases, some towns will offer protection, but most Suplums will keep moving, or stay hidden to keep out of trouble. Due to their natural marks, it is difficult for them to hide among people without someone finding out who they are.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Suplum appear as average human mortals do, and mostly work as human mortals do. The difference is their marks, which works similarly to a neural network of sorts to activate and use their Gifts.

Biological Traits

Suplum are basically humans with Gifts, and should be treated as such unless otherwise mentioned.

Genetics and Reproduction

Suplum genetics seem to worm similarly to human genetics when it comes to body types, hair color, eye color, skin color, etc. However, Suplum who reproduce with a human will only have a small chance of having a Suplum child. Suplum and Suplum reproduction produces another Suplum. The human child of a Suplum has no higher chance of producing a Suplum; these genes either pass on or they don't. Strangely enough, specific Gifts aren't guaranteed to pass on. There's only about a 1/4 chance to pass on one of the exact Gifts one's parents have. Otherwise, Gifts seem to suit the person they appear in.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Not including Gifts that allow for extrasensory abilities, Suplum only seem to have a sensitivity to things like other Suplum, those infected with Gifts, and the Borders. Suplum are almost instantaneously aware of other Suplum or Gift-infected that are within a small area around them. This awareness is not hindered by anything except Borders, which Suplum are also sensitive to. As Suplum get too close to a Border, they develop itching in their marks and a headache. The closer they get, the worse these symptoms become, until the headache becomes unbearable and the itching becomes burning. No Suplum has ever been known to be Borderless.

Civilization and Culture

Major Organizations

The Faction of Gifts is run by and joined mainly by Suplum, though they accept those infected by Gifts as well. Though this organization is only official in the Delicraci Province, some Suplum outside of Delicraci have attempted creating their own chapter of the Faction. Most of the time, Suplum are merely trying to help each other escape old superstitions.

Common Taboos

The Borders have a huge effect on Suplum, and as such, they tend to avoid them. It's become strange to see Suplum even near the Border. They often avoid Borderless, as well.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Humans have a negative view of Suplum, due to the negativity of infected Gifts and the suspicion that Suplum caused it. Most provinces, however, allow Suplum free reign and protection over themselves, and people are mostly indifferent. In other provinces, Suplum are forced to live alone in hiding or travel around constantly to stay safe from humans who think they might infect them still.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

Suplum can have unnaturally colored hair and eyes, on top of those colors considered natural to humans. Their marks are unique to Suplum and those infected with Gifts, though Suplums are not burned into their skin and instead sit like tattoos. Most of these markings have some sort of color to them, though shades of gray, black, and white have been recorded as well.
