Elves

Famulus, “Slave Elves”

A thousand years of squalor, oppression and hardships has fundamentally changed the once proud elves into the Famulus. As a result of their hard lives, they have developed an incredible ability to survive and act fast in every situation. The Slave Elves are believed to be descendants from the former Forest Elves. To be able to survive for this long, and still keep a sense of pride of their heritage, the Famulus has developed a refined sense of perception and cunning, and keeping a low profile is their specialty.

Gelú, “Ice Elves”

The Gelú make their dwellings in icy mountain peaks and the most brutal of cold climates. Most Gelú grow up far from civilization and the comforts of towns and technology. They witness the migration of herds larger than forests, survive weather more extreme than any city-dweller could comprehend, and enjoy the solitude of being the only thinking creature for miles in any direction. Gelú are commonly tall, robust and tough. Their skin color is either pale blue, pale grey or white, while their hair is grey, black or silver-white. Their eyes are most commonly pale blue or green.

Haréna, “Sand Elves”

The Haréna have adapted to the heat of a very harsh climate, and can go days without water or food. To traverse the desert, the Haréna have developed a unique type of transportation; winged gliders. These are gifted to the Haréna when they reach adulthood, and are often painted with a lot of different colors and patterns. The Haréna have a natural resilience and keen instincts. Their light steps carry them quickly through their native dunes and helps them travel long distances without issue. The Haréna are pragmatic scavengers, and roam the desert wastes in nomadic bands or make their home in caves or dens in the sandy wasteland. They are considered opportunistic, cunning and deceitful by other races, but only take what they need to survive, nothing more.

Feróx, “Savage Elves”

After living in the wilderness for a thousand years, these elves has evolved into something savage and feral. They often feel more acceptance and kinship with the beasts of the forest, than from other races or elves. Although, living in the wild has granted them a superior survivability and physical capabilities. They also mark themselves with tattos that signify important life events and give reverence to the might of nature. The Feróx consider their elven brethren to have given up their primal essence in favor of civilization. They are known to befriend many of the animals in their forest, having mastered the beast tongue and tend to see themselves as guardians of the woods. They live in small tribal communities, adorning themselves with animal skins or leather armor decorated with the shapes of leaves or animals, meanwhile defending their territory from other tribes of the forest.

Ciniis, “Soot Elves”

The Ciniis are known for carving out their settlements in the harshest of places, from ashen wastes to the summits of great volcanoes. For them, their ancestry and traditions go hand in hand with natural inclination toward warfare, magic and reverence of fire elementals. The Ciniis most commonly have red eyes, ash grey skin and coarse voices due to their continuous smoke inhalation. The Ciniis primarily herd livestock, as well as hunt, fish, and forage where they can. They live in primitive yurts built out of animal hide. Some tribes of the Ciniis trade with settlements, primarily for materials that their own animals cannot produce. Each tribe is led by the strongest warrior among them, called the Ashkhan. The Ashkhan has one or several Gulakhan, commanders, who deal with outsiders on behalf of the tribe. Spiritually, the tribe are led by a Manirai, a wise woman, who provides healing and counsel to the tribe, as well as lead them in prayer and religious rituals in homage to local fire elementals. Their religion emphasizes mysticism and personal revelation, and the tribes and the Manirai hold much stock in dreams and visions.

Agarin, “Blood Elves”

The origins of the Agarin are a mystery. Some say they are a product of selective breeding or the result of some magical experiment. Others say that they were created during the initial invasion of the Black Eclipse as a bulwark against the bestial hordes. Only one thing is certain; the Agarin are highly sought after because of their unflinching nature and natural prowess in combat. Due to their involvement in The Second Triumph it is very rare to see a Blood Elf, and a sighting often signals something significant is coming. Most commonly, the Agarin have bright red eyes and pale skin. Often, they also adorn themselves with intricate tattoos or facial markings.
