Ghaik

The Ghaik are a humanoid race, who has an appearance that can be disturbing and unsettling to some of the other races. They have an octopus-like mouth with several tentacles surrounding it. They have four long fingers, and often had a slimy mucus covering their skin. Documents from history books describe that the Ghaik were considered a very beautiful race once, before the Second Triumph when their appearance were drastically altered and mutated. The Ghaik are known for their invention of steam technology, their troubled past with the Cavaas, and also for their magic tranquility. Another noteworthy thing about the Ghaik is their form of reproduction. This involves a larval Ghaik, resembling a squid-faced tadpole, which is inserted into the ear of an animal. The larva eats away the victim’s brain and takes over its nervous system. The victim’s flesh and organs are converted into new matter for the larva, and after several days has passed, a new adult Ghaik is born.
Ability Scores. INT +2 and your choice of WIS or CHA +1.
Age. Reaches adulthood at 15 and live up to 75 years.
Size. Average 6-7t tall and weigh around 140 pounds. Your size is Medium.
Languages. Can speak, read and write Common, and also read Ghaik, a writing similar to braille, which is read by the Ghaik’s tentacles.
Darkvision 60ft.
Innate Psionics. You know the Friends cantrip. At 3rd level, you can cast Detect Thoughts once, and can’t use it again until you finish a long rest. At 5th level, you can cast Levitate once, and can’t use it again until you finish a long rest. INT is your spellcasting ability.
Telepathy. You can talk telepathically to a creature, that shares at least one language with you, that are within 30ft. You must keep concentration on this, or the telepathy ends.
Mind Blast. As an action, you can unleash a powerful psionic force from your mind. Each hostile creature, in a 15ft cone emanating from yourself, must make an INT saving throw (DC 8 + Prof.Bonus + INT). On a failed save, the creature takes 2d6 psychic damage and is stunned until the end of their next turn, or they take half damage on a successful save. The damage increases by 1d6 at 6th level, 11th level and 16th level. After using this ability, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Extract Soul. As an action, you can devour the remnant life energy of a humanoid, within 5ft, that died within the last minute. You gain temporary HP equal to your INT modifier + the creature’s INT modifier. These temporary HP last for an hour. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your CON modifier, and regain expended uses after a long rest.
