Gnomes

The Silex, “Crag-Kin”

The Silex are naturally stronger than their other gnome brethren. They use this, along with great resourcefulness and inventiveness to create settlements along cliff-sides. Usually strong and brawny for gnomes, the Silex have an innate understanding for metal of all sorts. Many spend their lives as miners, blacksmiths, or even alchemists. The Silex often trade with different communities, exchanging knowledge, tools and metals between workshops. They welcome friendly competition in metalworking trades and enjoy seeing what others do with various metals and alloys created in their forges.

The Cruor, “The Heartless”

The Cruor are known as sadistic, malicious and vile creatures. They usually perform a ritual when they've killed a creature which entails soaking their hair in the creature's blood, which they believe will transfer the creature's strength into them. More often than not, the Cruor are considered evil, but some encounter feelings of remorse for their bloody lifestyle and decide to seek atonement. The Cruor prefer to live in the forest, mostly in the darker parts, where they endlessly bicker and fight against each other or some of the other races of the forest. The Cruor's eyes are larger than their fellow gnome kin. They have black eyes, with varying iris colorations that range from shades of blue, green or yellow.

The Salis, “Windjammers”

The Salis are gnomes that have combined their natural inventiveness with seafaring. They often live in coastal communities where seafaring is common. The Salis' culture is very focused on community and caring for their fellow kin, and because of their nautical lifestyle they've developed a hardiness and a knack for practical things. Often they live in and along mighty rivers. A Salis settlement is often a collection of boats tied together across a river, with channels to allow passing vessels through. The Salis are often seen traveling the rivers, trading what they can to those they meet along the way.
