The Quiet Thunder Heralds

The Quiet Thunder is an old and highly influential organization of traveling bards with an unusual status. They are equal parts, entertainers, historians, musicians, messengers, and envoys. Believed to be protected by the god Oghma, the Lord of knowledge, this organization is given a 'wide berth' by all the races of Faerun and beyond.
They are uniquely welcomed by scholars, aristocrats, city-ruling classes, and wandering nomadic tribes of various races. They can be found in castles, libraries, taverns, and even traveling under the open stars. The one place that they will never be found, is in a prison.  For even  the most powerful rulers fear offending Oghma and risk having him strike their minds with his vengeance.
