The Cherry Blossom Society is a multifunctional organization. It’s a paramilitary force; a quasi-political movement; a criminal enterprise; and a mercenary outfit. Their roots lay far to the east on the Isles of Prespur, in the Sea of Fallen Stars. Founded over 700 years ago by Nizari-i-Showa, a former Dragonborn pirate, they were created with the stated purpose of wresting control of the great cities of The Sword Coast, from the ruling bodies.   For generations, they grew in strength but failed to cross the great expanse of Faerun. This group, with its lofty goals, was left having to be satisfied with raiding and subjugating small fishing villages, farming communities, and nomadic bands. However, their circumstances changed roughly forty-five years ago.   Under the leadership of the sorceress Nambra Veverall, they amassed a large fighting force and suddenly appeared on the High Moors, southeast of Waterdeep. The call to arms went out and Waterdeep successfully mobilized three legions to face this ancient threat.   Although the united forces narrowly defeated this army, it is believed that Nambra Veverall escaped and returned to Prespur.   As the decades passed since that moment, the Cherry Blossom Society has implemented a different strategy. They have now integrated themselves into the political, criminal, legal, and economic structures of Waterdeep, Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter, and Luskan. It is believed that the current leadership on the Sword Coast rests on the shoulders of Daycon Wormtongue who it is whispered has infiltrated the Great Houses in all the major cities. They are highly dangerous, and it is said that even the Zhentarim give them ample space to conduct their affairs throughout the land.
