Overview
The Royal Duckery is part of the palace in Vraitha and is under direct supervision of the
Lord of Ducks and only belongs to the Mistress, the ruling queen of Vraitha.
The Duckery consists of three parts: the Duck Farm itself, the Teahouse and the Lounge inside the palace. All three are connected and are part of the royal park; the Lounge is inside the walls of the palace, but has a door to the park and the Duckery itself.
All three parts are overseen by the Lord of Ducks. This includes not only that the staff is in order, but also restocking supplies, repairs and the breeding of the Ducks and their bloodlines which should give them smooth and colourful feathers.
Farm
A Duckfarm for the
Rainbow Ducks where they are bred and where they can roam as they please. Even fly away if they want, but normally they don't do that. The Farm has a large pond with a small stream delivering fresh water for the Ducks which is surrounded by a few lush meadows and trees. There are normally no more than thirty Ducks here, every Duck cherished and loved. No one is getting eaten, only their feathers are sometimes plucked and repurposed. But they grow back, so not much of a problem.
Teahouse
A teahouse made out of clear glass painted with stained glass Rainbow Ducks in the royal garden. It is used for tea ceremonies or contemplation or leisure activities like reading books or just sipping tea.
It is built like a hexagon and has a lot of (potted) plants, a few shelves with books - which are copies of books from the palace - and an entrance for the Ducks if they want to hang out. Some of them want, others are not so fond of the colourful glass and stay outside.
Lounge
The Lounge is a mix of museum, library and teahouse with a small bar where the barkeeper serves cookies, small pieces of cakes and sweets and a variation of teas with or without honey. The museum-part consists of a lot of cupboards, inhabited by teapots and teacups, designed after the most beloved Rainbow Ducks of the ruling Mistress. When the Mistress wants to lounge, her favourite duckpot & duckcup is used to serve the favourite tea of the Mistress. Mostly used for having private time or having guests.
Every pair of teapot and teacup have a small painting behind them which depicts the Rainbow Duck in question after they were designed, including the Ducks name and the name of the Mistress which was ruling at the time.
On the opposite wall of the museum are a few shelfs with books one can read while lounging.
