Silver Dragon Jewelery

Overview

The Silver Dragon Jewelery is created in the vast and busy workshop of The Silver Dragon from where it got its name.

The Jewelery itself is made out of different materials, be it copper, brass, silver, gold, platinum or different kinds of gems. But they all have one thing in common: depending on the main material you need the corresponding dragon blood.

History of the Jewelery

It all began with Nodïl and Merphed. Nodïl was a dwarven dragon hunter who was trying to improve his own armor and weapons for he was a smith before becoming a dragon hunter. He was on the hunt for a silver dragon, found and wounded one, but couldn't kill it because he was stopped by Merphed, a male Dragonborn. He defended the silver dragon against Nodïl and stopped him in his murderous endevours, explaining the nature and the intelligence of the dragons to the dwarf.

The dragons name was Furura (at least the short form, his real name was longer than a poem by a lovedrunken poet) and he struck a deal with Merphed and Nodïl: in exchange for a maximum of two litres of blood every two weeks they protect and feed him so he is not forced to hunt and kill anymore if not necessary.

Together with Ruhara, a silver elf and Granorscha, a female dwarf, they created not only the workshop of the Silver Dragon and some very sturdy armour but also after some custom requests the line of the Silver Dragon Jewelery.

At first it was only a designated line to the Silver Dragon itself and Furura, speaking of chains and pendants in the form of his scales; earrings in the form of his head with emerald eyes or more intimate rings and needles or chockers with thin chains. The complete set would create a thin silver dragon on the body of the person, sometimes connected with chains of thin silver.

After a few years Ruhara and Granorscha experimented with armour tinted in gold and the blood of Furura and discovered that the blood of a silver dragon won't react properly with something other than silver. But they also discovered that the blood of a dragon can react with different materials and giving the material special traits in the process, including gems.

At this point they experimented with the silver dragon blood and all kinds of metals and gems in nearly every possible combination, even with thickness and form.
In this learning process all of the four smiths discovered three possible and practical applications:

more or less ordinary jewelery
body-infused jewelery like subdermal piercings
thin layers of the ordered material/gem which seep into the body resembling tattoos

They experimented with more materials like stone and wood and even those materials reacted the same way when coming in contact with the dragons blood.

Over time more and more customers came into the Silver Dragon, ordering all kinds of jewelery. And that is where we are now.

Products & Services

The Silver Dragon Jewelery consists of a range of pieces. A full set of ordinary jewelery includes the following:

optional diadem
earrings
choker
rings
bracelets
pendants
six sets of breast piercings, three as rings and three as rods in three sizes
three genital piercings depending on the customers choice
one scale for thigh
one scale for each lower leg
one scale for each upper foot
one scale for each toe
an optional spine scale from the shoulders down to the hip

Depending on the customer there can be additions or changes. A Garladan for example would buy bracelets for their tails as well or female and male genital piercings. Dragonborn would buy some jewelery for their horns as well but probably no other options besides earrings, choker, rings and bracelets because they are scaly as well.

Included in the services of the Silver Dragon are repairs, adjustments right at the shop without charge and providing comfort while the subdermal jewelery or the more picturesque tattoos are applied. The four smiths even provide care instructions if needed.

If the customer is ordering a special kind of material or something other than Silver as material and blood, they have to provide it, buy it or contract the Silver Dragon to hunt for the material and the blood. All three options are very pricey, but if someone wants the whole service coming from one source, than they get charged extra. It would be a huge loss to the world, the customers and the four smiths who are loving each other to lose somebody so they charge more.

Prices vary and the prices on the lists are only for the whole set of Silver Dragon Jewelery based on Silver and Silver Dragon Blood.

Additional jewelery

Nodïl had a few friends coming over from the mountains and they ordered jewelery for their beards. The problem: some of the jewelery was too heavy for some of the beard strings. So Nodïl and Granorscha experimented with different types of dragons blood but ended up with the liquid of their glands where they produce the flammable liquid. If the beard beads or beard clips where dipped and burned with this specific liquid it made them lighter for some reason. Now every dwarf - and other species - with a beard could have a shiny new piece of Silver Dragon Jewelery in their beards.

Jewelery Traits

Normally every piece of the Silver Dragon Jewelery is quite sturdy and can withstand even swords and clubs if necessary. But infused with the right liquid (blood, urine, the flammable liquid etc.) the material and/or the gems get other traits. Gems for example glow in a distinct light (Rubies glow red, emeralds green and so on), engravings glow too or don't fade, the main material getting harder to destroy and more smooth to the body.

But a customer has the right to demand a special trait for the jewelery or only for parts of it. Some customers wanted their genital/breast piercings to make them more sensible, one wanted to clean his blood with it - which was hard to achieve, but possible - while it was applied to his body and some wanted to glow in the same light. With different types of dragons blood and runic inscriptions the four smiths can give each part of the jewelery a specific trait and a purpose.

Fashion, Treasure & Honour

Regarding to its price the Silver Dragon Jewelery is not a very common thing to see and most likey to find in the hands - or on the bodies - of rich people, speaking of rich merchants or nobility. And even in the proximity of the nobility the original Silver Dragon Jewelery is very uncommon. Everyone who can afford it is met with jealous eyes and comments so sweet with envy that some had already choked on it.

But those who can afford custom made Silver Dragon Jewelery are met with honour, pride and more or less willingly tradepartners. Custom made Silver Dragon Jewelery is a door opener for many things, be it trade or other relationships.
