Personal history
Birth and Appointment to Kornax
Da was born in Ether during the fifteenth millennium of the Ascendancy of Dragons. She lived and grew and amassed great power and wealth among the Ethereal Dragons. In 12027 AscD, Hanzhou appointed Da to be the R̈amëqaas of Rinyaa on Kornax. She ruled both the region of the surface, which retained the name Rinyaa, as well as the subterranean regions beneath her feet, which were called Erinyaa.Da and Am
She ruled Rinyaa and Erinyaa for a thousand years, teaching the various peoples of the region in a measured and wise fashion, ever vigilant for their welfare. Whe was especially close to the Ithygši̋c Thjodanalfen, whom she ruled directly, as their queen, though she lived on the surface while they lived below, in the manner of those driven to the depths by X'Rell and the Lysælfen.
In the early days of the tenth century of the Ascendancy of Dragons, an unstable and terrible Power from the plane of Earth named Am came to Kornax. He plunged through the subterranean realms beneath the Tunsaccian subcontinent, especially the regions below Rinyaa. In response to this threat, Da founded her citadel in 10172 AscD, imbuing it with great magic that rendered it invulnerable to the onslaughts of Am for as long as Da should dwell there. In this way, Da raised for the peoples of Rinyaa, including the Ithygši̋c, a refuge to which they could retreat in the event of a strike by the elemental elder god.
For centuries, Da's citadel proved enough for the defense of the peoples of Rinyaa. Eventually, however, Am's incursions became to great. Da drew the elder god into open battle in a great cavern beneath the surface. Long and hard she strove against him until, at last, she wounded him severely and he fled into the deep places of Kornax and victory was hers.
Ned̬abeya and Teymy
The memory of the subterranean peoples, despite their long lives, is finite. In time, the subterranean peoples of Rinyaa began to tell tales of an ancient elder god of the Earth Plane, whom they only knew by a title in the language of the Ithygši̋c: Neb̬adeya, which means "Mouth of the Abyss." The watchers in the deep became complacent and began to believe Neb̬adeya a myth. In the year 2694 AscD, they learned otherwise. The devouring elder god burst up into the galleries of the subterranean folk and consumed entire tribes. Da was forced, once again, to act in the defense of the peoples of Rinyaa. This time, she struck the god down. Despite this, Neb̬adeya is immortal and cannot be permanently slain save on the Plane of Earth. Da understood this, so she created a great tablet of stone. She inscribed runes on its surface, and she lent some of her Essence and Spirit to the tablet. She chose a champion from among the Ithygši̋c, a warrior-wizard woman named Teymy. She gave Teymy the tablet and bade her venture to the deep cavern wherein lay Ned̬abeya's body. There she was to use the power of the tablet to inscribe a seal upon the chamber, binding the elder god to that space for eternity.
Teymy ventured deep within the surface of Kornax, far deeper than the warrens of her people. Deeper even than the forbidden and terrifying colonies and lairs of those beings from the Beyond who live within Kornax. Many years and many trials tested Teymy in her quest until, at last, she found the chamber in which Ned̬abeya lay. She enacted the enchantment as Da had commanded, and she bound the elder god to the chamber.
Her labors complete, she returned to Da's citadel high upon the mountain and returned to the greatwyrm the tablet she had born. She returned to her people and, though old by her people's reckoning, she mothered a daughter, whom she named Ciltyc Thidfud, who went on to found D̬aa, the great mother realm of the Ithygši̋c people.
Da took the tablet that Teymy had returned to her and secured it within her citadel against future need. For though it had great power, it also possessed the potential to cause great harm in the hands of one unable to control themselves and master their passions.
Da and Chamsud, and the Death of Da
During the first millennium of the Ascendancy of Dragons, a golden-scaled ethereal dragon came to Kornax at the command of Hanzhou. His purpose was to defend the welfare of the peoples of Kornax. Soon, he and Da met, and they became devoted to one another. Chamsud settled with Da in her citadel and they produced many clutches of golden-scaled Material Dragons.
In time, however, the duplicitous Rogiq, aided by the archfiend Mroz, struck down Asgorn, Hanzhou, and Efrang, bringing about the Fall of Dragons. When war broke out between the giants of Kornax and the dragons Chamsud fought on the side of the dragons. In 661 LE, he met the great storm giant champion Flech in battle. The two fought for months, but finally struck one another down, both crashing to the earth and perishing there.
When Da learned of Chamsud's death, she was overwhelmed with grief. She shut herself into her citadel, which became a place of darkness and despair, until she finally perished from the grief of her loss. When she died, the Dragontablet of Da burst into four fragments and the enchantment on the Citadel of Da was broken, as well.
