Estiadum

An Estiadum is the lowest rank of Peer in the Principality of Ritilia. They are the tenant-in-chief and local military leaders. Some owe fealty directly to the crown, but more often, they owe fealty to an intermediate liege lord.

Requirements

Inheritance from a direct ancestor of the same rank or appointment by a liege lord.

Appointment

An Estadium either inherits the title upon the death of the previous holder, if they are their heir, or by Appointment of Dignity accomplished by their liege lord, either to override the laws of heritability or in the creation of a novel fiefdom.

Responsibilities

• Military service to their liege
• Political support to their liege
• Governance, defense, and administration of the lands under their control

Brass chain of office set with rubies on alternating discs.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Can be removed or dismissed at the pleasure of their liege lord.
