Gnoll

Gnolls are descendants of a common ancestor with hyenas. Asgorn awakened them in hopes they would be a viable people, but they were quickly cursed and twisted by the Demon Warlord Iyawwng'Uh (/IPA 'ija͡ʊːŋ'ə/), who predisposed them to cruelty, malice, and insatiable hunger.

Though all gnolls carry the Curse of Iyawwng'Uh, many tribes successfully suppress it in these latter days. Those who do not give the entire species a reputation for mindless viciousness and cruetly.

Though they are sapient, the intellect of a gnoll is far inferior to that of average members of most sapient species, much more on par with apes.
