Naming Traditions
Family names
There are no family names, per se. An individual desribes themself as "mūr" a parent, then often "mūr" a famous ancestor. Once the ancestral identifiers have been applied, the name their tribe, which will always end in -q'i or -'i. Thus Kūriw, whose father is ʻĪddān, and whose great grandfather Wāḑubā was a famous raider from the tribe of ’Akhīll would be called, "Kūriw mūr 'Īddān mūr Wāḑubā 'Akhīll'i."
