The Primordial Essences

In the time before time, there were only the Elder Titans and the Orvax. Those beings were neither spirit nor matter, but rather Essence. Each instilled a portion of that Essence into a single artifact. These artifacts are called the Primordial Essences. Though Essence is immaterial, and therefore these artifacts are immaterial, they manifest within the Material Sphere in physical form. It is unclear what can be done with these Essences, either alone or in concert with one another, but it is certain that their power is rivaled only by the power of the Elder Titans, themselves.
