The Saints of Fate have little trouble locating Befda's shop. She seems a very befuddled airea woman - a hedge mage, at most.
When asked about her home, she says that she came to Kornax via a portal. She'd be willing to share information on the portal's location and operation, which she now says is "in the mountains." To share that knowledge, however, she needs a service.
She asks the party to go to Saercumar and secure a Writ of Trade, allowing her to send her goods to and through the trade town. If the party returns to her with her Writ of Trade, she will divulge the portal's secrets to the Plane of Air.
During the conversation, the party asks if there is a way to travel without a portal and that they want to go to the Palace of Air and Light. Without dropping her demeanor, she looks at Lakri and tells her such magic is beyond her. She also says she knows of the Palace.
As the party is leaving, Lakri lingers. She confronts Befda and drops her befuddled demeanor. She explains that she is willing to be exiled from the Plane of Air because she offended the Elder Titan Ahmsu. He knows where she is, but he will not pursue her to the Material Plane as long as she remains humble and quiet.
