Beginning in 1277 LE, at the order of R̂oldavus Vous, the Calpian Legions moved into Cultecciia. A protracted war broke out. It likely would have ended sooner, but the Cultecci were clever mariners and on several occasions evacuated their armies by sea before the Calpian Legions could engage them. At last, in 1289, they were caught in a single climactic battle - the Slaughter of Irvati's Fields - in which the Cultecci army was slain to the last warrior.
