A diverse group of adventurers band together, each for their own reasons, to retrieve a geneological tome from a tomb.

Val'Dir and DeAth Acher, dragonborn twins that are nothing alike come to the Principality of Ritilia, winding up in Iccim, following a lead on the theft of forbidden books from the Ancient and Venerable Library of the Imperium.

Drayh Hinnamag, a thjodanalfen on the surface for the first time in his life winds his way to Iccim from his home beneath the Cumbu Mountains.

Hip Pocrates, a celerman monk who is wandering Tunsaccia seeking people in need of help, finds her way to the smallish city of Iccim.

Yamtater Dirt-Turner, a veggieling struggling to come to terms with the murder of his family years before, wanders aimlessly in his grief until he finds the walls of Iccim.

These five adventurers, unlike as they may be, find common cause seeking a geneology on behalf of an old noblewoman named Evbila of Urbem. They venture to her family's tomb in the Fields of Rest outside of Urbem Village where they dispatch the undead in her family's tomb and retrieve the item in question. In return, they are paid in gold, and Val'Dir is further rewarded with the return of the Tome of Īlā, which Evbila had purchased from the book thief.
