Everqueen of Alithanar
The Everqueen is always the Queen of Alvendar. Her realm is the site of the principal shrine of Isha and the Everqueen is regarded as the spiritual leader of the entire Elven realm and greater Elven society/world. The position of Everqueen is taken up by the firstborn daugther of the previous queen, conceived during her year-long ritual marriage to the Phoenix King. After this formal marriage, they are free to take new consorts, but only the daughter conceived from the marriage of the Phoenix King and Everqueen can be the new Everqueen. Alvendarian queens have always been the Everqueen, forming an unbroken chain from ages past. When she is joyful, the skies above become clear and the land for leagues around blooms with life and light. When she mourns, the skies weep with her, and when her eyes darken with rage, thunder roars across the hills. Since the Golden Age, the Everqueen has served as Isha’s chosen priestess in the mortal world. Whilst the tradition of the Phoenix King is relatively new — a mere six and a half thousand years in age — there has always been an Everqueen ruling the enchanted Isles of Alithanar.

Requirements
The first daughter must reach the age declared as adulthood in Elven culture, she must also be blessed in the home temple of the Alithanaran Pantheon. Once the current Everqueen has passed, the daughter will inherit the throne.

History
The current Everqueen's predecessor, Ilynara the Kind was one of the most beloved and renowned to sit the throne of Alithanar. Ilynara was an uncommon personality, and was quite different than her predecessors. She sought to explore the world and experience its adventure, rather than sit on a throne and perform holy rituals for her people every day, and birth her husband's children.
Ilynara was beloved by her people for "acting as a commoner herself" (as described by a rival Prince who sought her hand). She gave as much as she could to ensure all Elves were content. Ilynara was the voice of the "Human Kingdoms" and sought to come to their aid when the horrors of the Whispered One and the Darkheart returned. Ilynara went so far as to leave her kingdom in exile after her husband's mysterious disappearance in order to take her chance to see the world and to help the mortal races.
Ilynara returned to her homeland to halt the vicious civil war that gripped it for years. The war was ended prematurely when Imrys, the Darkheart invaded with his vast undead hordes, almost wiping the Silver Empire from the planet. Imrys sacked the capital city, and took the Silver Tower, seeking to destroy its hold over the Weave of Magic, draining the force of magic itself. The Everqueen's life force is dependent on the strength of her people, and used the very last of her power to heal the Glade Guardians, before fading from the world forever. Ilynara's daughter, Ammara now sits the throne of the Everqueen, and seeks to be as noble and kind as her mother.
Cultural Significance
The Everqueen is one of the cornerstones of Elven culture. Even those who have lived in self-imposed exile from Alithanar, and those who do not identify as high-elf respect and revere the Everqueen's words. Many significant moments of Elven history has been shaped by an Everqueen, most recently was Ilynara's defiance against Imrys the Darkheart, saving the Elven people from complete annihilation.
