Everqueen Viessa

Everqueen (a.k.a. Everqueen of Nothing, Exile Queen, Outlaw Queen)

Everqueen Viessa is the current Everqueen of Alithanar, but is only named such in a titular fashion, for the official position of Everqueen does not exist. Viessa is the daughter of Everqueen Ammara, who was killed in battle against Rak Tulkhesh upon his awakening in Old Calemdar. Viessa is seen by many as still the spiritual leader of the Elven people. She learned from her mother to focus solely on bringing goodwill to the world, and empowering the weak. Viessa also took much from her grandmother Ilynara, in that she has an adventurous mind, and should she regain her crown she would refuse to stay in a castle or temple and birth children.
Viessa is currently living as a commoner in the Arcanian Territory of The Empire, seeking to keep herself as hidden as possible from the eyes of Aelzan or the agents of the Empire. A classically trained spellcaster, Viessa uses her magic to heal the sick and bring light to the darkest corners of the realm. Viessa was present for her father's execution, and holds a bitter grudge against Aelzan and all of the Archons, wishing to one day watch the Empire collapse, and that freedom can return to the realm of Korrisia.
Some of those in Viessa's company believe that the Mother Goddess of Elves, Isha, still speaks to the Everqueen, guiding and pushing her to empower her people to stand against tyranny. Many of those in her following push her to ask her people to rise up, but she fears that it will lead to endless bloodshed and the continued downfall of the Elven people.

Personal history

Viessa was born under a swift and golden sunrise over the City of Alvendar. It was foretold that Everqueen Ammara would lose her child in birth, and that for the entirety of her labor she cried and begged to Isha to protect her unborn child at all costs. After 22 hours of labor, a beautiful golden-haired daughter was born. It is said that as Viessa was birthed, Isha herself wept tears of joy, and rainbows appeared across the entire empire. From her birth it was obvious that Viessa was so much more like her grandmother Ilynara then Ammara, as she was constantly rebellious. Viessa refused to learn the courtly behaviors such as stitching and sowing, and making blessings upon the people or calling to the gods and hoping they'll take pity on her, she wanted to save the world with her own hands. Almost all lessons were ignored save for the lessons with her Great Uncle, the Loremaster of the White Tower of Hoeth, who taught her to control the Winds of Magic.
Studying the ancient Elven wizards who could cast great and powerful Rituals of Myriad, Viessa wished to have such control over the Winds, so that she could use these powers to protect the world. Viessa would barely be in her first century when the great doom would occur to Korrisia, and Rak Tulkhesh, the Underlord of War would awaken and seek to slaughter all in his path. One of the creatures victims would be Viessa's beloved mother, Everqueen Ammara.
After her mother's death, the Priestesses of Isha began to make plans to crown Viessa as the new Everqueen in hopes that she would be prepared to marry the next Phoenix King, whenever their ascension would occur. There wasn't enough time before Chancellor Aelzan would declare war across the entire world, and seek to create the Korrisian Empire. The Elven empire was the last to hold out before the Earthshatter Edict was foretold, as Aelzan called upon magic to shatter the continent of Alithanar, killing thousands of the Elven people. When Phoenix King Bel-Adas surrendered to Aelzan, Viessa looked on in horror as her father's soul was shredded before hundreds, and the body burned in white-hot flames.
Before Aelzan's forces could seek out the young Everqueen, she was whisked away by the White Lions, the elite fighting force of Alithanar. A young White Lion named Kerym Urilam took Viessa aboard a Waterdavian trade vessel that was fleeing the conflict, and brought her to safety in the City-State. It wasn't long before the agents of Aelzan tracked her and the White Lions down, killing most of those who protected her, only Viessa, Kerym, and several additional followers were able to escape. Viessa abandoned all aspects of her royal heritage, and eventually became a tailor in the City of Calemdar, the Imperial Capitol. It is there that she hides, subtly using her magic to heal the sick and the wounded, and standing as a hidden image of hope for her people, perhaps one day the Gods will assist and empower her, and she can lead her people to a new free age.
