City of Lanterns

A city in the far continent. Famous for the glass works and the lanterns that light the hole city. As lord Baelons symbol was a lit lantern this city was considered a very spiritual place. Trinkets of glass are much more easyly founded here. Plates, glasses lanters, and even home divices are also quite famus to be made of glass. The windows are usualy made of decoradted glass in beautifull colours.
There is a trade route heading towards Devia that exports these goods. The merchants avoid sending the goods from the river since its unrully waters often damage the products. However from devia the glass made products are packaged corecly and sent all around the world.

Demographics

There is a large halfling community and some dwarfs. The rest are humman and it in extreme occations elfs.

Government

The governor of Asheport is Lord Marius Rodiner, the senior of the oldest Merchant house in the city. His political role has taken him away from the economical practices of his family and the his first dawter Astarte has taken his place. The governor is elected through a raly that is made publicly and is not a inherited title.

Defences

The city is quite defencless and is basicaly proteced by the military powres of Fort Rognal that dominate the arrea. Attacs form the mountains are not unsusual but most of the times The camp of soldiers from Fort Rognal a bit ouside the city can handle them. In return the city of Lanters supports Fort Rognal with cosumambles and complex weaponts that the citys tinkers are more able to build.

Infrastructure

There are 3 glassoworks in the city. Each one specialised in different teqniques.
The first is owned by the family Rodiner and is famus for the clear bright colour of the creations. The factory however produces glass artifacts for other merchants that desire such a result.
The second one is owned mutualy from the citys other two large families. The Lirians and the Wei-Su. The two families are very close share a comon work force in the factory. This factory is known for producing more complex recipies that eyther absorb light or reflect it in a cetrain way. Most windows in the city have been produced here.

The last factory is a Busines of ts own. The ouners are dwarves and only cell to other merchants in large quantities. The jobs assigned to them are also involving other materials like stone, clay or metal. The dwarves also make here jewleury made from glass, gems and metals. It is the only part of their work that they sell independenlty.

The city also has a small port around the lake that produces food and some windmills by the outer rim that are owned by the farmer families that provide the city with weat.
