Dessiara
People in
Dessiara will celebrate their birthdays every year. These celebrations are often small and done with only a few close friends and/or family, and small gifts are oftentimes given to the birthday person. These celebrations do not get skipped as one gets older, and people who do not get gifts for others on their birthdays are seen as stingy or thoughtless. It is not offensive to not get invited to a birthday party, and in fact many nobles will oftentimes use these events to invite people they don't like just to make things awkward for the other person.
The King's birthday is a national holiday and people are required to give some kind of present to him on that day.
Terramis
People in
Terramis will celebrate their birthdays every year. These celebrations are often larger for kids and smaller for adults. Gifts are given to the birthday person from those attending the party, though not required in most cases. It can be seen as offensive to not get invited to a birthday party, especially for nobles.
The royal family hosts a large banquet for their children on their birthdays in which many are invited. The king and queen don't really celebrate their birthdays but do get presents from their children and sometimes close friends.
Opirium
People in
Opirium will not often celebrate their birthdays. Only nobility and royalty will usually celebrate, and only at certain ages. Small gifts may be given to birthday people from a close friend or family member or two on other days, however only on certain years of age the royalty and nobility will set up a large party to celebrate it. Large gifts are oftentimes given to the birthday person, but these celebrations generally stop as one gets older, People who do not get gifts for others on their special birthdays is seen as offensive and thoughtless. If one is not invited to a special birthday it is also seen as offensive, even if the person is unliked or anything.
Commoners are not usually invited to noble or royal birthday celebrations.
Wahvess
People in
Wahvess will often celebrate their birthdays altogether. Since the entire country is one large
city people will publicly celebrate their birthdays and oftentimes gifts and shop discounts are given to the people whose birthday it is.
Children are treated more special than adults in most cases, however some people decide not to celebrate their birthday for the year.
