Mabela is a surprisingly lightweight rusty-silver colored metal, found in the mountains of Opirium. It has a shiny quality to it and is easily extracted from rocks and stones. Despite its rusty color, it doesn't rust easily and has hydrophobic qualities.

Mabela possesses a unique internal heat source, radiating a warm glow even in the harsh Opirian south. This warmth is gentle and continuous, providing comfort against the biting cold. Despite being a metal, it has high malleability and can easily be shaped.

Everyday use

Mabela is most commonly seen woven into thin strands and incorporated into fabrics, creating garments that provide warmth without bulk. These clothes range from simple scarves and gloves to intricately designed jackets and gowns.
However, while mabela offers warmth, it does not provide cold resistance. Wearing too much mabela clothing can lead to overheating externally, even in the frigid Opirian climate, while inside you are still freezing, making frostbite still a possible risk. As a result, Opirians tend to wear limited amounts of Mabela clothing, often in combination with other cold-resistant garments.

Due to its limited availability and invaluable properties, Mabela is considered a precious metal in Opirium, fetching high prices in the market. Additionally, because of its use in crafting Cleeth, it's often sold to Dessiara as an expensive and exotic import.
