Lost Adventurers
A group of five adventurers were hired by a mysterious benefactor to investigate a secret entrance into Forgehammer.
The map and instructions they were provided were claimed to be a "ritual to allow claim over some rare mining ores" but was actually a sacrificial ritual intended to open a portal to the Shadowfell and summon a fel beast to bind it into a contract. The lost adventurers are discovered in blackness of the Forgehammer mines with their memories missing, and only after putting the pieces of their story together will the party realize that something is amiss and they are actually host to the parasitic Chosen—eldritch monsters from between the planes. Defeating the Chosen and discovering the sacrificed adventurer's journals will reveal a singular name of the mysterious employer as one Grimshaw
