Windlass

The Gnomish nation of Windlass is a prosperous one. Occupying the Sea of Wings and surrounding shores, it is a common sight to see the large while sails of the agile Gnome trading ships cutting through the waves as they zip back and forth supporting one of the most prolific trading nations on Kronos.

Structure

The Arvyre Council, made up of thirteen leaders known as Head Engineers, govern the nation from their capital seat on the Arvyre islands.   Each Head Engineer is said to have a specific realm of specialty and a specific subset of government they oversee, but outsiders have only managed to confirm the domains of two of them: Head Engineer of Trade, and Head Engineer of Harvest—in charge of global trading contracts and managing the Windlass fleet of trade ships, and in charge of the Edgli Valley and it's bountiful fields of dye flowers.

Culture

The Gnomes of Windlass are somewhat reclusive, despite their wide-reaching trade empire. Travelers on their ships are usually kept confined to their cabins while underway, and it is rare to see any other species on the home isle of the Arvyre Archipelago.   Quick-witted and straight-forward, most gnomes have a boisterous and callous sense of humor that is known to dissapear in an instant during times of negotiation. The captains of the trade ships are known to be fierce traders and lead crews of no-nonsense sailors.
