Ansel
The unyielding wall of Solamnia. With more armor than man himself, Ansel is the forefront of any engagement. Just as he is eager to take to the front of a fight he is equally eager to bring all of those he crosses to justice.
Ansel is a Solamnic Knight of the Crown whos ideals have had him in question within the council. His beliefs are that of pure fairness in that there is potential for good in all things whether it be in monsters... or gods. Yet he is not blind to his own beliefs in that he alone cannot save everyone, some creatures are best left to be saved by Paladine himself.
Ansel brings fourth Paladine's guidance through the unorthodox display on his armor. All over his right arm from pauldron to gauntlet are a variety of symbols all pertaining to Paladine. Ansel believes when he leads his blows from this arm Paladine himself empowers him. Covering his left arm are symbols of Sargonnas. It is Ansel's hope to bring the good out in Sargonnas by using this arm to be merciful and to spare those of pain and suffering. He hopes to bring a new meaning to Sargonnas name. On his chest piece it is written, "Good in all things" with two half's of either gods symbols stitched together. Finally on his helmet is a laurel wreath to show that he will be victorious in his quest.
Due to this unconventional conjoining of gods to his armor many have a distaste for him and skew their opinions of him. Thus he always wears a cloak when not in combat to make life a little easier, but whenever combat should arise he will not hesitate to show his beliefs! For it is Ansel's ultimate goal and belief that there is some form of good in Sargonnas and that he will, with the assistance of Paladine, bring it out!

Ansel's Dream of the Paladin
Ansel, thinking of Travok's tragic backstory and the damage done, allowed him to see more of himself. Leaving Ansel intrigued but afraid, he falls into an almost forced sleep. He awakes, but with no armor, He is looking through a child's eyes, his eyes, his past. Recognizing Portsmouth village, he feels confused, it had been invaded? Thinking back he had a past life here, family and friends, but so long ago, so much has happened, it was too painful to think about so it had been almost forgotten.
Names and faces are a blur, he feels the sense that he has had this dream before. Before his eyes the village begins to burn like wildfire, the people inside scream and fight for their lives. Stunned, he thinks maybe if he did something different, if he tried harder things could have changed. Perhaps putting out the flames!. Looking for help and for a sense of security he runs to his home but to no avail, as his home burns just like the others. Black robed figures are throughout the village, killing with abandon. But to his horror the slain villagers covered in blood begin to rise again, as undead, to serve their new masters.
Bursting through the door of his home and burning his right arm black he finds his family in pitched combat with these figures. These beings seem to laugh when looking at him. They are wearing dark velvet black robes robes, trimmed in a red draconic speech. The leader wraps his scaly and clawed hand around his mothers throat, lifts her into the air and with a single crunch, snaps her neck. She fell almost as if in slow motion. You try to yell out but no sound exits his lips. The father yells out a solamnic battle cry and charges the figure. Almost as if an afterthought it flicks its wrist and a dark beam impacts his father turning him to dust. The last thing he sees is Ansel's mother rising again, seemingly to serve her new master. But not before a golden glimmer sparks in her eye.
In his sorrow all he could think about is the one person he could turn to in times of need. The man who helped raise him like a son, Lord Gunther. Lord Gunthar stands before him, but something feels off. Looking closer Ansel notices it isn't Gunther but an armored form, with two different colored eyes, One of black and one of silver. Knowing this figure is not one but two. The figure splits into the two forms. One is an Armored knight white white hair and the other a dark Minotaur with fur and large horns.
“You have no idea what you're doing old man, my allegiance lies with my lady. Why do you think this boy is worthy of my power?” says the Minotaur Sargonnas. Paladine smirks and says "You would be surprised my old friend, this one is different '' The two beings look at each other silently, seeming to have a battle of wills and words. Paladine seems to vouches for Ansel. Finally looking away Sargonnas looks to Ansel. He seems to recognize Ansel's power. The power to balance the light and the dark. He smirks and with a huff says "Interesting, lets see where this leads, but will he have the strength to keep such balance"
Ansel’s right hand being burned black by the fire begins to have life flow through it again, his other other glowing white. A feeling of conflict in Ansel's emotions blooms in his mind. Between Hate and Kindness, war and peace. But when two hands are placed on Ansel's shoulders a peace of divine nature begins to blossom. A tattoo of Sargonnas on his right forearm, and on the left Paladine. A dark power on his right seemingly kept in check by the power on his left. With the ability to handle both these powers for good or evil is up to Ansel. His last vision is that of a swirling blood red sea with a tower deep beneath the water, and at the top, two statues with clasped forearms. The vision fades as Ansel awakes, but the powers remain.
