Kuri Standard Time

Kuri Standard Time (KST) is the widely used solution to the problem of not being able to easily quantify time across different planets. It is based off Sechia's orbit, standardising the length of a day to exactly one rotation of the planet, and setting the length of a year to exactly 360 days. A day is divided normally into hours, minutes and seconds, and a year is divided into months and weeks similarly to the Calendar of Harptos (but does not incorporate holidays between months). This means that the KST date has little bearing on the season of the planet you are on, and the KST time has little bearing on what time of day it is (apart from if you are on Sechia).
Unfortunately, this is insufficient to create a truly universal time system. Due to relativity, there is no such thing as time being the same in two different places. This problem is mitigated by having specifically-designed deep-space radio towers on Sechia broadcast radio waves with specific frequencies every hour. Therefore, the time very slightly varies in accordance with the distance to Sechia, with each light-second away precisely leading to a one-second KST lag behind Sechia. All colonies administered by TerrAstris are legally required to update their time to exactly KST every hour, and most other colonies have followed suit.
Local and planetary timekeeping systems are employed on all known colonies, which use the same calendar, but may change the amount of months in a year to align with the orbital cycle, and may change the amount of hours in a day and the precise length of an hour to more closely match the rotation of the planet. Planetary time is often signified with the abbreviation PT, to help distinguish from KST time. Local time (LT) may be shifted by some integer multiple of one hour forwards or backwards in different regions of planets, such that midday occurs closest to the middle hour in their PT system. For example, if a planet had a 30-hour day, but midday occured at 03:00, you might choose to adopt a local time of PT+12, which would place midday at 15:00.
