What is the heart that lies on the battlefield? Burning with fire as life's light is extinguished.
The sigh of a final breath taken? As chill as winter's kiss in the morning.
What is one's recourse when their fate is stolen from them? Spilled against the ground like so many leaves in autumn.
There is one creature of Kurinko who can speak the answers. When a warrior is killed on a battlefield of fresh snow, their ambitions unfulfilled, there is a phenomenon known as borealis's breath that grants the fallen solider a second life as a Yuki. This item is said to have been spun from the hair of one risen in such a manner.

APPEARANCE

Woven from strands of glacier white silk, this elbow-length tulle veils appears to be nothing more than a mundane wedding accessory. Soft to the touch the material is always cool, even when left to sit in full sunlight. This, perhaps, should have been a hint that it is no ordinary vestment. Yet it was not until a young shrine maiden beheld it under the light of the moon, revealing an opalescence shimmer, that its nature as a magical item was discovered.

ABILITIES

Now a treasure of the Elemental Council, it is worn as a badge of station by the Master of Water. As such the only ones who know the true powers of this artifact are those on the council. Rumors about its abilities abound however, with the general populace believing such wild tales as allowing it's wearer to shapeshift to more practical ideas that it grants moderate control over weather.
With all rumors about the enigmatic garment aside, the power contained within allows its wielder to fabricate small illusions from thin air. How the master chooses to employ these illusions has varied from generation to generation though it is believed that a particularly young Master of Water currently uses it to project a more mature appearance.

MATERIALS

The only confirmed material used in the creation of this mystical item is the hair of a Yuki. Comprised of microscopic ice crystals, it is these chilly prisms that allow the veil create illusions.
