Brue Stoutfall
Brue took pride in being a drill instructor for the Imperial Fort in Midheaven, besides being transferred here with this position it allowed him more free time. It also gave him a sense of saving lives as his responsibilities was defensive training which he always hoped would save lives. He was a renown soldier on the front lines but after he married, his wife made sure he was not going to see any more fighting in person. Due to his impeccable service record, years of service he was granted his request to transfer to the fort so that he could take up training others as a drill instructor.
He may not be on the front lines anymore but if you talk to his neighbors, they may tell you differently due to all the yelling, crashes and commotion that is almost a nightly routine at his home. He loves his wife dearly and at heart she is only trying to look after him by keeping him alive and out of any trouble. He did have a reputation when he was younger for getting drunk and then starting brawls at the taverns, always looking for some way or another to prove his capabilities. The wife will not have any of that, not on her watch.
After years of being a drill instructor, he has developed a bad habit of using a very loud demanding voice when speaking to others. Not so much on purpose as it's a bad habit he has picked up from yelling at the young recruits all day long. Of course, Brue was never known for subtlety, patience or being delicate. He may be loud, demanding, gruf and sometimes does not understand that one needs to have filters in place in civilized conversations, but he means well and is always the first to protect others from harm.
A few rumors have been overheard about Imperial officials paying visits to his home late at night to his loving wife's unhappiness. Also, there is the fact of the fort being so much busier than normal. So many troops are now coming into the fort, then being sent out in large groups marching eastwards. Some of the town's residents have been curious with all the mysterious events taking place in the last few months, not to mention all those high-ranking officials visiting Brue so late in the night.
