Gilden Lake
A beautiful freshwater lake, the largest in the region. Try your hand at one of the numerous fishing spots or enjoy a relaxing swim in the crystal-clear water. Many of the locals come here daily to catch the delicious pan fish that come in a wide variety of shapes, size and colors. If you enjoy freshwater fish, then you will find none better than those pulled from Gilden Lake. This very large freshwater lake runs much deeper than normal lakes, most parts can only be guessed for depth. The water is always fresh, cool, crystal clear and provides excellent drinking water.
Sweetberry brushes grow along the western banks which are super sweet and perfect for desserts. Many folks come here for these amazing berries due to the water of the lake being so clean the berry brushes grow to incredible sizes. Across the lake in Gildenvale many of the bakeries use these berries fresh daily to make there bake goods. There are even a few wineries in Shivershire that will use these berries to make an extra sweet seasonal berry wine.
With Gildenvale built on the eastern shore this makes for a great place to visit. Common sight to see folks coming here for fishing, swimming, berry picking and enjoying a relaxing day at the lake. Once the day is over most folks will head into Gildenvale for drinks, entertainment and some try their luck with gambling. If you're looking for a day off for relaxing and to enjoy the nightlife, this always makes for a good place to come.
Recently there has been gossip of strange tracks being found on the muddy banks... as if 'something' was coming and going from the lake. There has been an Imperial patrol that has investigated this but the tracks are nothing more than some of the normal mammals coming in to drink from the lake, so the guards have assured us everything is perfectly safe.
