Gilnor Liafina
Gilnor Liafina in his younger years was well known for being one of the best rangers on the west coast. He excelled at all ranger skills and was unmatched when it came to other rangers. He spent most of his life hiding the fact that his heritage was half-elf, almost everyone thought of him as merely another human.
He did travel to the Elven Federation where he stayed among the elves for a few years before leaving it all behind. He was welcomed but he always felt out of place among the elves. He was able to learn a great deal from them in regard to being a ranger, becoming one with the forest and the use of a longbow.
After returning back to the west coast of the Kovarian Empire, he soon became determined to help a small village that was just starting out called Cromer. The northern area was wild and away from civilization so prone to monster and beast attacks. Over the years Cromer grew in size while Gilnor's reputation also grew from his good deeds towards the village. He quickly became known as one of the best archers in the area, with tracking skills that were truly amazing. He was for good reason, considered the best ranger on the west coast.
By the time he reached middle age, he was leading a group of rangers, woodsmen, trappers, hunters and others. They supplied food, leather, and safety to Cromer while the village built a guild hall for this group in honor of their dedication. Being the founding member for this ranger guild, he set down most of the rules, agreements and established a mutually beneficial agreement between his guild and the village. People thought of him as the local folk hero, and he was starting to become famous.
It was around this time that his pride started to get the best of him, he wanted his only child to take his place as the guild leader once he became of age. Having lost his wife during the birth of his son, it was always on him to raise his son up to be his prodigy and legacy. To start a family line of famous rangers that history would never forget. Thinking he could deal with any situation in the forest, he started to train his son at the early age of only 10 which was Gilnor's fatal mistake. While out in the wilderness with his son, he started to track a rather large Crocobear that had already killed and eaten 2 other hunters. Not being as cautious as he should have been, being filled with so much pride in his abilities, the Crocobear was able to ambush them. His son was slashed in half before his eyes, Gilnor finally was able to kill the creature but was given a nasty scar across his face from the fight.
Being overwhelmed with guilt and grief, Gilnor left everything behind without saying a word. There are rumors of him living alone out in the wilderness but does not welcome any visitors. It has been said that he has gone as far as setting non-lethal traps in the area to keep people away from him. He has not been seen in over 10 years now and some even wonder if he is even alive anymore.
