Kovarian Inquisitor

Within the Kovarian Empire it is common knowledge that both the Imperial Church and the Imperial military are equals among the political structuring of the Empire. Back in the beginning days of the human race, while they first looked to the warm bright life-giving sun they found hope, with that hope that found faith. As all races originally started in a dark vile land of death and torment, the humans found themselves at the bottom of the food chain. Even the other slave races treated them poorly as the humans had no special abilities as all the other races processed. The humans eventually came together as one in the last-ditch effort to preserve their species. One family in particular gathered all humans together, united them all under one banner, one faith and one goal… to survive and prosper. That family, which is now the bloodline of all emperors, made two special groups. One group always defends the humans and gives their lives by fighting, then the other group ensures that the human faith always burns brightly in the face of darkness. Working together the two groups where responsible for starting the slave rebellions back in 2000BI which was the leading factor in all of the races escaping to the newfound lands of Kutania.
Shortly after the Empire was officially formed, it was vowed that never again shall humans bow to others, never again shall their kind be enslaved, never again would they fear the darkness and never again would the humans be treated like vermin. Both the military and the Church grew in strength each performing a different necessary task but always working together as one. The church quickly realized that their enemies would always be deceitful, hide in the shadows, use deception, be manipulative and would require a specialized division to reveal the truth in the darkest of times. Hence the Inquisitor branch was started with the full support of the military and the government.
Starting with using proven methods that worked for the ISO branch of the military, the church set out making a special branch for themselves. Under the strictest of methods where young recruits trained and conditioned, always ensuring that they would never weaver, never back down, never feel the greed of others and never leave the path of the light. Using special programs, training techniques, magical energies and artifacts of old the first Inquisitors where trained. They were found to be incredibly valuable during the witch trials of Covenfell, as no matter how hard the witches tried, they could not persuade or corrupt the Inquisitors. No matter what magic was used, no matter how much darkness was used to hide, the Inquisitors always found the truth. Revealing all that did wrong, showing all that was hidden from the rest, bringing into the light those that walked the path of darkness.
In today's world, the Inquisitors are feared by everyone because simply everyone has secrets but that was the job of the Inquisitors, to find those secrets and reveal them for judgment. Nothing was ever hidden from the Inquisitors, any that have done wrong where always brought forth for judgment. They are void of humor, good intentions or any emotional baggage to get in their way, they are trained to be highly focused so that nothing escapes their notice. Inquisitors process the legal right to interrogate anyone deemed suspicious, at times they have even interrogated high ranking politicians who have disobeyed the law being corrupt which is never tolerated within the empire. For the Empire, upholding the law is always treated with the utmost importance as it was the lawlessness of the old world that allowed for the races to become slaves. It was that lack of law that resulted in the sleeping god to break free of his prison and come to this world.
Inquisitors also have full legal rights to take anyone without notice for interrogation, they are legally allowed to use any methods deemed necessary to get the truth from someone deemed suspicious. If they think even for a moment that you hide darkness in your soul, they will without hesitation spend days upon days interrogating the person until a confession has been made. Over the last 8000 years they have perfected the arts of torturing and questioning, they have developed unnatural abilities to detect lies, to see thru illusions, to use their Goddess abilities to reveal that which is hidden, they have even been known to talk to the dead in order to get answers. When it comes to Inquisitors, it is always best to avoid them at all costs because no matter how good of a person you may think you are, there is something you hide, something you keep secret, but the Inquisitors will always find it and once they do, you shall be put forth for judgment.
