Rimar Jossin
Rimar in his younger years was a proud patriot of the empire, being a good student and at the first available moment joined up with the Imperial Exploration department. Over the years he became highly skilled at map making, exploring, finding lost places, investigating ruins and learning all the history that he could. This made him a very valuable asset to the Imperial Exploration department, even starting to gain ranks until he had his own exploration teams that he was in charge of.
Unfortunately, he started to learn that the Empire was not about sharing knowledge with others which Rimar found distasteful and irresponsible of the government. Near the end of his career, it was almost normal for him to be arguing in disagreement with his imperial superiors about one thing or another. He was a firm believer in passing the information he found to all others, to share the wonders of the lands, to give others the information he had discovered in his exploration trips, but the Empire restricted this. The government found it better if the citizens were kept unaware of what was really out there, keeping knowledge to themselves.
After a long and heated argument with the board of directors for the exploration department, Rimar went into a rage and told them he would never hide anything from the public ever again, thus quitting his long career with the Empire. Out of respect for his many years of excellent work, he was not arrested and was let go into retirement. He returned to a small village he had spent time at before, Riverton and made a life for himself there. The residents of Riverton can be protective of Rimar as he has done so much for the village over the years that he has lived there.
Recently there has been rumors coming from Riverton that he has found some secret lost ruins in the forest within the area. Along with other bad rumors that Rimar was responsible for Riverton’s negative opinion of the Empire. When imperial guards come into town on patrol, Rimar mostly stays away from them per the villagers wishes. Rimar is known for being confrontational with them, always looking for a verbal argument with them which of course can lead to lots of trouble for the village.
He tends to spend most of his time now researching, studying ancient tombs and maps as his love in life is exploring the unknown. If adventures could convince him of an exploration adventure being something that he could learn from, discover lost secrets or may be a pain in the Empires side, then Rimar may help them depending on the circumstances and attitudes of those adventurers. Rimar finds it distasteful to backstab, so does not do so, but is good with a light crossbow which he learned from his father during hunting trips with him. He also does not like violence all that much but will defend himself. He is easy to set off with a heated debate, argument and verbal fights a little too quickly. He is famous for starting arguments with anyone Imperial or working with the Empire as he has such strong feelings against them.
