The Blood War
During the beginning when the Zhethrh'itha ruled all with a cruel iron fist…
The Zhethrh'itha had absolute power over all other races and creatures, during this world domination they enslaved all other life. Using tourture and other cruel experiments as forms of entertainment. The sleeping god has already transformed their entire race right down to a DNA level of altercation.
During this time the Zhethrh'itha made huge but terrifying technical advances, pushed medical enhancement further along, researched heavily into trying to travel the Sea of Chaos so that they could enslave all four worlds and then travel out of the Sea of Chaos to find new worlds to conquer. Advancements in other areas were slow including music, arts, philosophy, agricultural and any other areas of study that did not correspond with their end goals of conquering all.
The Zhethrh'ithar hunted a few different races to the brink of extinction in the name of research. Some of these races included Vampires, Shadow Grendels, Aurelian Halflings and the Kappas. As these races were strictly hunted for their special natural powers that the Zhethrh'ithar wanted to unlock and add to their own abilities. Over time hundreds of thousands of them were mutilated and slowly killed for research and only the Vampires were able to escape.
The Elder Lord of the vampires made a pact with the human leaders, involving humans being willing to feed the vampires and help them escape the Zhethrh'ithar in return for the vampires doing their part in the rebellions. The vampires being a race of honor did indeed hold their world and it was by their help that so many were able to escape by boat. Unfortunately, over history the humans along with the other races have forgotten that bargain which even to this day the Vampires remember all too well.
Grimfangs where a savage furious canine race of werewolves with special abilities including turning others into werewolves. The Zhethrh'ithar used them as nothing but guard dogs and hunting dogs to hunt down escaped slaves. They were experimented upon and mistreated just as badly as all the other races. Over the years they slowly started to become more human like and less canine like, this did not make the Zhethrh'ithar happy as it made them even more difficult to control as they wanted attack dogs not walking thinking creatures.
As the Zhethrh'ithar tried to slaughter off the Grimfangs to committee genocide, the alpha Grimfang and the Elder vampire lord became bitter rivals as the last two ancient races left in the world. As they were heading towards wiping one another out, they soon came to an uneasy truce pact that would allow them both to escape to new lands with the other new races of the world.
After the different races started to claim the new lands for their own, the Visio Aeternae soon realized that this new world was not for them. They slowly stepped back into the shadows and were solemnly ever seen and even now are not considered nothing more than scary bedtime stories that people tell kids to scare them. The Grimfangs had no difficulties with blending in as they started to become better at shape changing themselves into looking human like.
The Zhethrh'ithar where punished by the sleeping god for allowing so many slaves to escape which drastically dropped the amount of negative energy there was in the world. As the sleeping god came out of the ocean, it walked across the continent heading towards the direction that all the slaves fled. As the sleeping god was so enormous in size and radiated so much power, as it walked over the continent it caused earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, canyons to open up, lakes spilled out, rivers change directions and other apocalyptic changes were permanently made in the homeland of the Zhethrh'ithar.
As the sleeping god was weakened from the loss of all that negative energy and traveling, just as he could see the shores off in the far distance… the Shinzoku and the dragons banded together attacking the sleeping god. While the sleeping god was being distracted, Shub-Niggurath was able to use all of its power to lure the sleeping god into a deep sleep. The ocean ran red from the blood of dragons, demons, Shinzoku and the mazokus. Afterwards the sleeping god laid down on the ocean floor out away from what is now called Echo Bay. The Shinzoku being so few in numbers retreated which caused a bitter split between ancient dragons and the other dragons. The mazoku also losing heavy numbers went into hiding along with the others.
A few hundred years passed before some of the surviving Zhethrh'ithar found the new land seeking revenge on everyone. The Visio Aeternae were the first ones to attack them in defensive maneuvers to protect the new lands. During this time the Alpha leader of the Grimfangs being overly aggressive decided it was the best time to attack both sides so that the Grimfangs would be the most powerful in the new lands so that they could take it over.
After a long brutal battle that lasted decades the Zhethrh'ithar finally retreated back to their destroyed homelands. As both the Grimfangs and the Visio Aeternae could not afford to continue such a bloody war, they once again came to a shaky truce for the time being. Even as bloody and brutal this war was, the other races were never aware of it happening as all three sides did not have enough numbers to risk having the other races attack them at the same time. It is now known between the three races as the blood war, as the Zhethrh'ithar need human blood for magic and medical experiments. The Visio Aeternae need human blood to live as its their only source of food and then the Grimfangs find that human meat is the best food source of all.
In recent times something has happened to break that thin truce as they once again call arms against one another, and the war is once again being waged in the shadows without the common people being aware of it. Even now all three sides are taking strategic holds at certain key points around the regions for a larger scale war that will soon spill out into the general public.
