The Master

Nothing is really known about this so-called wizard... he does not allow visitors, does not speak to anyone and never is seen outside of his old crumbling stone tower. Airielle is the only one he speaks to and allows into his inner tower chambers located in Echo Bay.
Around Echo Bay everyone knows him, refers to him as 'Master' but no one can provide details about him whatsoever. Rumors say... about 20 years ago there was a pirate fleet that had almost destroyed the town. Killing those that opposed them and taking what they wanted without resistance.
On the same day the old wizard arrived, and the pirate fleet simply disappeared. The townsfolk speak of him as the town savior but yet no one can really recall what happened on that day. Almost as if everyone in town has hazy memories of that one day and of the master himself.
No one is sure of his race or age, but he appears to be incredibly old and very fragile. Always talking to himself, even at times yelling and screaming at himself. Never really witnessed doing anything magical but yet everyone says he is the great wizard hero of Echo Bay.
Only seen outside his tower a few times as he remains locked away in his tower with his ancient books. Some have noticed a growing chill in the air when he's near, making others feel uneasy in his presence, with a faint 'chemical' smell around him. Then there is something... about the way he moves... seems kind of 'odd'.
Some whispers of him being driven mad from accidentally killing his beloved wife and children due to research and experimentation into a new branch of magic. Years of grief and guilt slowly led him towards being obsessed with finding some way of bringing his family back to him.
